The Push2Heat project has released the first video in a new series of Virtual Demo Visits, offering a closer look at how innovative heat pump technologies are being implemented in real industrial environments.

This first episode takes viewers inside Demo Site 1, hosted at the Felix Schoeller paper manufacturing facility in Weissenborn, Germany, where a two-stage High-Temperature Heat Pump (HTHP) is being demonstrated as part of the transition toward sustainable industrial heat.

The virtual tour provides a unique opportunity to see how advanced heat pump solutions are integrated into an active production environment and to hear directly from the experts involved in the project.

Through insights from project partners, the video explores:

  • Why the Push2Heat project is strategically important for Felix Schoeller’s decarbonisation pathway, explained by Carsten Schmidt, Senior Project Manager at Felix Schoeller.
  • The technical and operational challenges of integrating a high-temperature heat pump in a running industrial plant, discussed by Tim Hamacher and Franz Helminger from SPH Sustainable Process Heat GmbH.
  • The broader role of high-temperature heat pumps in accelerating industrial decarbonisation across Europe, presented by Reuven Paitazoglou, Senior Researcher at Fraunhofer IEG.
  • The expected performance and vision of the demo site within the Push2Heat project, outlined by Maider Epelde Agirre, Project Manager at TECNALIA Research & Innovation and Push2Heat Coordinator.

This first video marks the beginning of a series that will showcase the project’s demonstration sites and highlight the real-world deployment of technologies designed to support the decarbonisation of industrial heat.
