About the technology
The ThermBooster is a high-temperature heat pump designed for generating industrial process heat. Currently, the heat pump is capable of reaching temperatures of 165°C, with plans to achieve temperatures of 200°C and above in the future. This capability is made possible by a specially developed high-temperature piston compressor, working in conjunction with innovative process technology.
The objective of the technology in the Push2Heat project is to produce low-pressure steam at around 2 bar(a) in the paper industry. The heat source for this process is the exhaust heat from a paper machine dryer. Due to the relatively high-temperature lift required, the heat pump will perform this task in two stages.
